The Curamin Cure

Health 2000 recently caught up with Dr Bob Corish MD to discuss his award winning product Curamin, which is a natural solution to pain and inflammation.


Health 2000: Can you tell us a little about yourself and how long you have been practicing medicine?

Dr Corish MD: Originally I was born in Liverpool England and moved to America with my family in 1978.  It was here were I studied for my bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and continued on to medical school in Miami, where I earned my medical doctor’s degree.  I specialized in anesthesia and pain management and also studied toxicology.  I have practiced medicine for around 18 years.


Health 2000: How did you make the leap from being a medical Doctor, to a medical Doctor that uses natural medicine?

Dr Corish MD: The integration of ‘conventional’ medical practice together with ‘natural cellular medicine’ began around ten years ago - during this time I experienced an abrupt inflammatory condition that caused both of my hands to swell up and almost prevented me from working.  To make a long story short - I underwent a large battery of tests (which included the most sophisticated technology available) and every result turned up NEGATIVE! …Great news right?

However, the symptoms continued and I required daily anti-inflammatories to be able to work.

Within the same year, I was at a medical function and happened to mention my circumstances to another doctor, who casually suggested that I have a ‘Heavy metal’ challenge… I had never heard of it before but decided to give it a try and ‘Bingo’ I discovered that I was over-loaded with metals – actually off the charts. This was easily corrected and soon everything was back to normal and my symptoms gone! - it was at this point that I went on to study toxicology, which then led me into other studies, and in particular  preventative medicine.

 
Health 2000: What  sparked your interest  in the field of  natural pain relief as an alternative to the  commercially available forms?

Dr Corish MD:  It simply made sense, being that I was board certified in pain management and concentrating on preventative  medicine – it was only natural  to explore the alternative pain remedies and compare them to the conventional pharmaceuticals ( both the prescribed and the over-the counter medicines)…and by the way, I still prescribe certain pharmaceutical pain medications when I think it is appropriate;  such as following surgery or a significant injury or condition which needs immediate  pain control….However, I believe that there are some legitimate natural options, especially when it comes to chronic-long standing pain management.  For example, If we just take a look at arthritis and examine the various natural agents that have become popular over the past decade such as; Omega-3 fish oils, Green lipped muscle extract, Willow bark, DMSO, MSM, Glucosamine, capsaicin and others - One has to admit that they have earned their right to be included as legitimate options to treat pain caused by inflammation.  It is important to admit  that ….they don’t  ALL WORK FOR EVERYONE…but then again, THE VERY SAME CAN BE SAID FOR THE PHARMACEUTICAL MEDS…which can also have some significant side effects.


Health 2000: Why should the public be concerned about taking conventional pain medicines?

Dr Corish MD: As I mentioned, there are times when conventional pain medicines are absolutely necessary to control certain types of pain, however, when these medications are taken on a long-term basis – they can create other serious medical problems.  We know that NSAIDs (non steroidal anti-inflammatories) are associated with gastritis and stomach ulcers, they are also linked to kidney and liver problems - in recent years they have also been associated with strokes and heart attacks.  The truth is, that conventional pain medications were only designed for short term use… up to 4 weeks or so – they are not meant for chronic everyday use or continually for months and years. This is where pain management becomes sticky - What happens when a patient continues to require pain management for long periods…what are the options?

This is where natural treatment options should be utilized, however, they are seldom recommended, because conventional medical doctors have no formal training or experience in the use of natural therapeutics. It is easier to write another prescription or to refer a patient on to a chemist for some over the counter suggestions.  This is where I believe Curamin fits in perfectly.  Curamin is an all natural, plant-based formula that provides fast and effective relief without the side effects.  It is made of 4 clinically studied ingredients, all contained within a single capsule - each one of these active ingredients, as a solitary individual compound, has been shown to provide great relief, but when ‘teamed up’ with the other ingredients, creates a knockout formula with powerful results!   For once there is a natural formula that is effective and that can be used as an alternative to the ‘conventionals’ – Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Aspirin etc.


Health 2000: What is Curamin® and how does it work?

Dr Corish MD: Curamin is a natural formula composed of four ingredients: BCM-95 Super Curcumin, Bospure – boswellia, DL-Phenylalanine and Nattokinase.  Rather than go into details of how each one works (The Curamin handout does a better job at explaining this) - I will give a broad overview describing the general mechanisms of action.

Each individual ingredient within Curamin, works on specific cell signaling pathways - most of these pathways involve nerves that send noxious-unpleasant signals, even worse… these pathways are inter-connected and overlap, which causes an increase in the unpleasant signals.  When this happens, the Curamin ingredients ‘team up’ and effectively blocks the traffic traveling on these signaling pathways - At the same time, Curamin silences the message being sent.

Note that this is not quite the same mechanism seen with conventional synthetic medications (Paracetamol, ibuprofen, diclofenac and aspirin), which are designed to target only one specific pathway and leave other collateral pathways unchecked.

The bottom line is: Curamin is able to hit multiple pathways simultaneously. Curamin provides a broader & unified healing response, resulting in powerful relief …all without side effects - This is how Curamin works!

 
Health 2000: Are there any side effects?

Dr Corish MD: There have been no serious or even noteworthy side effects reported by the millions of people taking Curamin - Some individuals may find it easier to take Curamin with food in their stomach.  As always we advise everyone to check with their healthcare provider before taking Curamin


Health 2000: Can you tell us about the manufacturing process?

Dr Corish MD: The manufacturing process is quite impressive.  The turmeric root is where the Curcuminoids are concentrated and therefore the root is harvested carefully by hand…in fact none of the turmeric fields are ‘machined’ -  everything is done by hand.  There are no pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used and the leaves from the plants above the ground are re-used as fertilizer for the next crop. The whole process is directed under the ‘Fair trade’ agreement. This standard of care is continued throughout  the whole manufacturing process including the other ingredients.  Curamin is completely Vegan.


Health 2000: There are other products on the market made from turmeric. Can you tell us  what makes Curamin®  the market leader?

Dr Corish MD: There certainly are other curcumin products in the market, but Curamin is uniquely different.  First, we have to remember that Curamin contains other ingredients besides Curcumin, it is composed of four natural compounds, each of which, in its own right has amazing properties.

In regards to other turmeric products, it is important to note that only 5% of the turmeric spice actually contains curcumin.  Therefore, when looking for a  curcumin product it is important to look for the most concentrated, and purest curcuminoid isolates available. The  BCM-95 (short for Bio-Curcumax) contained within Curamin is the strongest and most bioavailable Curcumin on the market - consisting of only the top three most powerful curcuminoid isolates - Curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and Bis- demethoxycurcumin.  In addition to this, the BCM-95 is the most absorbable curcumin and achieves higher blood and tissues levels with greater retention than any other Curcumin preparation available - which all  means that it gets to where it is needed and works!

In the past, a huge amount of Curcumin was necessary just ensure that some of it would be absorbed....we are talking in the range of 12-20 Grams.  This has changed with BCM-95 - a patented mix of Curcuminoids,  transported in a plant based phospholipid - turmeric oil complex.  Now, significant amounts of potent Curcuminoids are able to reach tissues where they are able to exert their effects for up to 8 to 12 hours.  This is a game changer!  And it is one of the keys to Curamin's success. Combine this with the specialized BosPure-boswellia which has the highest concentration of the most active acetyl Keto boswellic acid (AKBA) (at least 10%), compared with most other brands, (less than 5%).  Additionally, BosPure has removed  the harmful Beta boswellic acid fraction from the it's formula, which in other brands can add up to 20% of the boswellia product - Curamin is in a different league in terms of functionality and quality.  Add to this, DL phenylalanine and Nattokinase and you have yourself an amazing blockbuster.

Health 2000: Has there been any research undertaken on  Curamin®   to prove why is it so effective?

Dr Corish MD: Most of the clinical studies with regards to Curamin have been conducted on its individual components. There are over 4000 peer reviewed studies on Curcumin alone, Boswellia has been used for it's health benefits for thousands of years and also has an impressive cache' of peer review studies. Similarly the essential amino acid DL-phenylalanine and the enzyme Nattokinase have both demonstrated impressive health benefits in their scientific studies. Dr Corish MD: The 'Vitty' of the year award in the US is an award that is voted on by the retail store owners, it is unbiased and very broad. Also it is unusual for a product to win this award back to back and year after year - this is a testimony to Curamin's impact on people's lives - it's a winner because it works!
