What’s the story with spirulina?

Spirulina is truly Nature’s original superfood. It is blue-green algae that is the most nutritious, concentrated food known to man. Spirulina has been used to sustain life from such diverse environments as the ancient civilisations of the Aztecs, to NASA’s cutting-edge food technology that supports astronauts on space missions.

Spirulina contains some of the highest-density protein found in any food, and offers more beta-carotene than carrots, more iron than raw spinach, and more calcium than milk on a gram per gram basis. Unique to spirulina is a protein called phycocyanin which has antioxidant action, helping with oxidative stress in your body and protecting your cells. With the richest concentration of nutrients known in any food, grain or herb on earth, researchers believe spirulina may be the perfect food.

Spirulina lacks cellulose walls so it is very easily digested and absorbed. This is especially important if your digestion is compromised, or if you’re recovering from illness. Within your body’s cells is an energy powerhouse called mitochondria. Spirulina feeds the mitochondria which turbo boosts your energy and helps with healthy cell regeneration.

Spirulina is an immune-regulating food. It helps to balance and stabilise your immune system, freeing up more of your metabolic energy for vitality, healing and absorbing nutrients. It builds a strong, healthy foundation, so you are less vulnerable to invading bacteria and viruses.

Spirulina Why do I react with diarrhea and vomiting when I try to take it now, after getting on well with my intake, but for some reason I stopped taking it. when I started to take it again I spent the whole night emptying out both ends at the same time. I left it for a few months then again I tried taking the smallest amount but the same reaction. Does that mean I am allergic to Spirulina?
