Is your time of the month breezy or uneasy?

Your menstrual cycle is a regular, natural change that occurs in your reproductive system to make pregnancy possible. On average, a woman will experience a menstrual cycle for some 40 years, give or take. It is a natural and beautiful part of being a woman, but it can come with some not-so-beautiful side effects that seem to taint the whole experience for many ladies out there.

Your menstrual cycle is affected by many things, from genetics to age, lifestyle factors, stress, diet, and so much more!

In Traditional Chinese Practice (TCP), the physiological changes women go through each month are said to be governed by your kidney organ-meridian system (which also governs your reproductive system) and healthy circulation of blood and Qi (life force).

According to this philosophy, women become predisposed to menstrual irregularities, premenstrual symptoms, period discomfort or heavy menstrual blood loss when the flow of blood or Qi is disrupted, and each woman experiences different symptoms according to the specific nature of the imbalances affecting her.

For example, many women who experience emotional symptoms such as mood swings or irritability, or physical symptoms such as breast tenderness are said to be affected by liver Qi stagnation.

This type of imbalance commonly results from leading a sedentary or stressful lifestyle, having a poor diet, or experiencing extreme emotions (such as anger, frustration or worry). It causes the accumulation of blood in the abdominal region and uterus, which can cause discomfort.

Other women may be affected by a deficiency of kidney Yin or spleen energy (perhaps due to overwork, stress or a poor diet), and consequently may experience fluid imbalance, bloating and tension in the back.

Fusion® Health Women’s Balance tablets contain a synergistic blend of herbs carefully combined to support balance for the menstrual cycle. It includes peony and dong quai, traditionally used to support menstruation, plus bupleurum and cyperus to disperse liver Qi, and rehmannia to nourish the Yin.

In TCP, balance means body, mind and spirit are nourished and functioning in harmony, not only with each other, but also with the world around us.

Fusion® Health products are a unique blend of Chinese and Western herbs, integrating the ancient wisdom of Chinese herbalism with Western herbal philosophies to provide the best benefits.
