Prostate Health

Almost one in three men over the age of 50 experience waterworks problems. More common with age, the signs are weak urine flow, a frequent need to urinate, bathroom visits during the night and loss of sleep. This could be a sign that your prostate health is in need of some TLC.

The prostate gland is an organ of the male reproductive system. It is shaped like a walnut and is found at the base of the bladder. The thin tube that allows urine and semen to pass out of the penis (urethra) runs through the prostate gland.

Men can take a pro-active role to protect themselves, by having their prostate checked regularly, and eating a healthy diet. If you are over 40, ask  the doctor for a prostate exam at your next appointment. And incorporate a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, low in unsaturated fats, sugars and processed foods.

Herbal remedies are extremely valuable for supporting prostate health. The herb Saw Palmetto has a long history, and has been well studied for its support of healthy prostate function. Other ingredients such as zinc, pumpkin seed, lycopene and selenium also help support prostate health and function.
