Homoeopathy is a unique system of medicine that has been in popular use for over 200 years. While some of the principles of homoeopathy were in use by the ancient Greeks and Egyptians, it is the German physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann who is credited with the discovery and development of homoeopathy into a system of medicine.

Homoeopathic remedies are unique in their actions, seeking to help stimulate the body's own defense systems to enable a completely natural cure. Homoeopathy is not to be confused with herbalism (medicine from herbs), or naturopathy (the discipline which brings together all natural therapies).
