My 50 minute workout that burns over 600 calories - Day 38

Okay so since I've started exercising in the morning, I find I'll only have around 50 minutes to workout instead of being able to spend however long I liked after work. So what's the best (ie fastest and burns the most calories) exercise machines at the gym?

RUNNING

I used to hate running. But when you lose weight it does get easier! I started off not being able to run longer than 3 minutes before I'd have to walk. and I was running at a pace of 9.5 on the treadmill.

Now I can run 6k! You just have to push yourself that little bit more. Don't try at go at it in full swing at the start as you'll just hurt yourself. I know, because I've done it. I didn't hurt myself too bad, just gave myself shin-splints. So I learnt you have to build up distances slowly and ALWAYS stretch before and after a run. If you find running boring make sure you have some really pumping music to get you through (I really like Chemical Brothers Brotherhood album at the moment).

Celebrity tip: Kate Beckinsale runs 30 minutes every day according to NW magazine.

I run for 6k at 31 minutes on a pace of 11.5 on the treadmill.

ROWING

Another machine I loathed when I was bigger as my back used to get really sore. But like with running it does get easier and I can really feel the burn in my butt, just make sure you are rowing correctly, as that is probably the reason why I had a sore back. I was bending and pulling using my arms more than my legs with you should have a straight back and use those thigh muscles to bring you back in.

I burn slightly more calories on the rowing machine than an exercise bike, plus I'm adding my arms into the equation. So I'll row for 10 minutes and burn around 100-110 calories.

Celebrity tip: Rebecca Romijn says "For cardio, you have to have good music. I love being on the elliptical and playing my music loud enough that I can't hear myself breathing. If you hear how heavily you're breathing, you won't push yourself to go harder."

DECLINE ABS BENCH

It seems like I'm doing the worse exercises you can do that the gym as I used to hate the Decline abs bench, who am I kidding, I still hate it but it works your abs like nothing else. I just have to learn how to do them consistently as on the 1st set I can get to around 15 before I lose my form and the second set is worse going to around 8. So my stomach is something I still work alot harder on.

BRIDGES & PLANKS

Great for you core strength and butt.

Celebrity tip: Macpherson swears by fish oil to keep the weight off!

So here's what I ate and exercised today.

Let me know if you have any exercise routines that have helped you lose weight.
