Key to weight loss success. Keep a food diary - Day 2
Keeping a food diary

I never kept a food diary before. So I've scour the net to find an interesting article on keeping a food diary.

Healthy food guide have one you can download from here

Here's a tidbit, you can read the full article on the link below.

"Studies show that a journal doesn’t just aid weight loss — it turbo-charges it. When researchers from Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research followed more than 2,000 dieters who were encouraged to record meals and snacks, they found that the single best predictor of whether a participant would drop weight was whether the person kept a food diary. It trumped exercise habits, age, and body mass index. The number of pounds people lost was directly related to the number of days they wrote in their log. (It’s no coincidence that Weight Watchers, one of the most successful diet programs, asks participants to track what they eat.)"

So today I ate...

Breakfast: Weight watchers custard & apple cereal bar and a herbal feijoa tea
Morning tea: Health 2000 Office Bake-off... (ate way too much) a delicious lemon tart, some "healthy" apple crumble and of course one of my muffins.
Lunch: I felt guilty after my pig out at the bake-off so I had half a pineapple for lunch
Afternoon tea: A handful of raw almonds
Dinner: We had dairy-free bean nachos with homemade guacamole.

Went to the gym and focused on my arms today:

Ran 3k
10mins on the bike on "random"
2 sets of 20 arm press
2 sets of 20 15lb dumbell above my head (I really need to provide pictures...)
2 sets of 20 30lb dumbell side crunches
2 sets of 20 of the "woodchopper" each arm
2 sets of 15 decline abs bench
2 sets of 20 lunges on a step holding a 5kg weight

I have a "warrant of fitness" check with contours Hamilton tomorrow so we'll see if I lost anything since 7th August 2012

Key to weight loss success. Keep a food diary - Day 2

So with a bake-off at work (no my muffins didn't win... :( - the winner was delicious lemon tarts). But I did alright on the eating semi healthy front. I'm going to keep a food diary for a week and then get a professional to look at it and tell me what to do better with my eating...
