Skincare to suit the seasons

Natural skin and body care ranges represent exceptionally high-quality products which feed and nourish the skin. Because they are natural, many people think they could not possibly be as effective as well-known synthetic brands. Yet, most people who try them never go back!

Sourced from nature, natural cosmetics and skincare products are pure – not bulked up with filler substances – so you therefore use less, and what you use is more effective.

They smell good enough to eat, with fragrances that are not overwhelming or “girly”, suitable for both genders. Because they are gentle and safe enough to put on a baby’s skin, they are also safe for everyone else too. Try them and see for yourself!

Summer/Autumn: During summer we become acutely aware of the condition of our skin.
Apart from the fact more of it is exposed as we wear less to cool down, our skin – the body’s largest organ – dehydrates in the heat and wind, after contact with salt water, in air conditioning, and when we perspire. We also run the risk of sunburn.

So it is no wonder we need to apply more products to our skin at this time of the year to take care of its condition. Apart from face and body moisturisers, other products used most liberally over summer are sunscreen, lip care, and self-tanning products. We also use a lot more soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Winter/Spring: While our skin acts as our protective barrier against the elements, it may surprise you to learn that it is during winter that it often takes its biggest battering.

Our face, hands and body dry out in winter due to cold, low-humidity, wind, air conditioning, and basking in front of the fire/heater. We tend to have long, hot showers or baths which strip moisture from the skin, yet neglect to moisturise afterwards for fear of getting cold.

It is also the time of the year when we can catch colds and, as spring arrives, we face hay fever. Both cause noses to drip, and we lose water with every sneeze.

We forget about using sunblock, lip balm, and sunglasses to protect our eyes from glare – unless we are near snow. Meanwhile, we cover up head to toe and often don’t realise how quickly that unseen dry skin can become itchy lizard skin.
