On Monday 22nd April we recognise Earth Day. Now an annual event, Earth Day began in 1970 when millions of people took to the streets to protest the negative impacts of 150 years of industrial development on our environment. Since its beginnings, Earth Day has been used as a day of political action and civic participation when it comes to sustainability, in particular sustainability efforts on behalf of corporates, businesses and governments.
