What is blood pressure?
“Blood pressure” is the force that circulating blood exerts on the walls of the arteries that it travels through. It’s usually given using two figures.
Your blood pressure can increase with physical activity or strong emotion, and reduce when you relax. Most doctors see a blood pressure level of 120/80 as being healthy, and a blood pressure higher than this may affect your health.
High blood pressure can be serious, so talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.
