Deficiency of B12 can appear as anaemia. It’s important to get blood tests to confirm supplementary requirements.
Side effects: At the recommended dose, there are no expected side effects.
Stop taking immediately if you notice side effects.
Drug interaction: There is a potential minor interaction with B1 and trimethoprim (Proloprim), where blood levels of thiamine may increase (TRC Healthcare, 2023).
Folate should not be taken with medication for seizures and methotrexate for cancer (TRC Healthcare, 2023).
There are no drug interactions noted with biotin, B5, B2 (TRC Healthcare, 2023).
