Better building blocks for a healthy immune system

As a naturopath, I’m often asked about the best supplements to help support a healthy immune system. People ask me about ingredients like echinacea, garlic, probiotics and more, all of which are wonderful immune-supporting ingredients.

However, one of my top personal immunity favourites would have to be vitamin C – and in particular, Nutra-Life Ester-C®. That’s because vitamin C is not only an immune support superstar, but also assists with many other important functions in your body.

Here are just a few of the ways in which your body uses vitamin C:

  • Supports normal white blood cell function – your white blood cells are a key component of your immune system
  • Support during ills and chills
  • A powerful antioxidant to support the natural protection of cells against free radical damage
  • An essential ingredient in collagen production, which plays a major role in supporting skin recovery, giving it strength and structure
  • Assists with iron absorption.

The good news is that vitamin C is present in many different fruits and vegetables. Here are three ways to easily increase your intake:

  1. Eat (or juice) lots of brightly-coloured fresh vegetables and fruits like peppers, citrus fruits, broccoli and leafy greens
  2. Start your day with lemon water, which not only supports digestion, but gives you a little vitamin C hit too
  3. Try taking a vitamin C supplement to ensure you are getting enough when needed.

Why Ester-C® is the better vitamin C™

One reason that Ester-C® is called “The Better Vitamin C™” is that it’s rapidly absorbed, so it ‘goes on duty’ quickly after you take it. Your white blood cells also retain it for much longer than they do standard vitamin C – up to 24 hours according to some studies. So it goes on supporting your immunity (and everything else) around the clock.

Cold season has arrived, so ask your friendly Health 2000 professional for Nutra-Life Ester-C® to support your family’s daily immunity today.
