Lifestream Detox & Alkalising Smoothie

If you’ve been feeling stressed or perhaps overindulging on too much rich food lately, your body is at risk of becoming too acidic. Here's a delicious and nutritious detoxifying and alkalising barley grass smoothie recipe that can help cleanse your body and support a healthy acid/alkaline balance. Barley grass is known for its supportive detoxifying benefits and is rich in chlorophyll, which can help support the pH balance of your body for optimal health and wellbeing. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut water or filtered water

  • 1 rounded teaspoon of Lifestream Barley Grass Certified Organic powder 

  • 1/2 cucumber, peeled and chopped

  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

  • 1 small green apple, cored and chopped

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

  • A handful of fresh mint leaves

Instructions:

Prepare Your Ingredients: Wash and peel the cucumber, juice the lemon, core and chop the green apple, and grate the fresh ginger.

Blend until smooth: Place all the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth. If you prefer a colder smoothie, you can add a few ice cubes and blend again until smooth.

Taste the smoothie and adjust the flavour to your liking. You can add more lemon juice for tartness.

Serve: Pour the detox and alkalizing barley grass smoothie into a glass, garnish with a mint sprig if desired, and enjoy!
