How do you know it’s real Mānuka honey?

Genuine Mānuka honey is a complex natural product:

  • >2000 natural compounds including flavonoid and phenolics – pasture honey such as clover have <100
  • >30 of these compounds are UNIQUE to Mānuka honey

These compounds give Mānuka honey its bioactive properties, and the higher the UMF™ rating, the more active the honey is.

UMF™ Certified Mānuka honey measures four key characteristic compounds

  • DHA/MGO = Potency
  • Leptosperin = Purity
  • HMF = Freshness

Comvita tests every batch minimum of 34 tests to verify the quality, potency, authenticity and monofloral purity of the honey.

Other rating systems do not guarantee potency, purity or authenticity which is why Comvita™ uses the UMF™ rating system.
